I think ADA Fruit sells one, but it's small. Or maybe there's a way someone has done a DIY version with an arduino and bunch of LEDs.might check that. ![]() But I dunno I can't use using a PixelStick unless you really needed some very specific light painting job like your company's name done in it. And various shapes of plexiglass used as brushes. I've seen folks wire up LED strips to monopods or other poles, but the light is more striped. The PixelStick is all about the control, so if you need those fancier light controls probably not much else. Īlso what other gadgets are out there available ? You can replicate any sort of pattern since it is programmed to operate with customized BMP files. The biggest advantage of using this gadget is the customization factor. Like the pixelstick, it can be controlled via an app to produce a range of effects unlike the pixelstick, the colorspike panel is more about lighting and color than it is about fun effects or light painting. Any alternatives? what I liked about it is the ability to upload images and play them out so anything with that ability would be great. The Pixelstick is nothing but a very advanced light source. Use the eyedropper to copy colors that are anywhere on your monitor in 4 formats (CSS, RGB, RGB hex, HTML) to the clipboard for use in any app. Use the loupe to magnify anything on screen. ![]() Now clear you can do it with pretty much everything from a phone light to steel wool ( which I have done)īut I wanted to take things to the next level so I started looking in to the pixelstick, but at 350$ not sure it's worth it. PixelStick is a measuring tool you can pinch and stretch to measure anything on your screen. I've been looking in to light painting lately.
